150th Anniversary

Celebrating 150 years of thriving together.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of serving the financial needs of Waseca and surrounding communities with roots dating back to 1874 where The Bank of Waseca was established. After being succeeded by The Citizens Bank, Otto Bremer Company of St. Paul purchased and chartered The First National Bank. In 1966, Frank T. Sankovitz and Richard P. Sankovitz purchased Otto Bremer Company stock resulting in the controlling interest of the bank. The Sankovitz family to this day, owns and continues to operate Keen Bank with several family members managing and others serving on the board of directors.

When reflecting on the 150-year longevity of serving as a community bank, it is truly a celebration—of working together to support customers, the local communities and charitable organizations. Keen Bank takes great pride in helping our customers and communities grow, building our futures together.

As we look to the future, we are excited to promote continued growth for our customers and communities to prosper. Throughout the years there have been a tremendous number of changes to products, services and technology within the banking industry. What has not changed is the unwavering commitment our team has for our customers and communities—to meet growing needs while maintaining the personal aspects of service that is synonymous with community banking. We always have and will continue to make decisions locally and invest in the communities we serve.

This summer, we have plans to share some fun memories of our past and celebrate the future with a customer appreciation event this August. Be sure to check back often and visit us on social media for details.

We look forward to celebrating 150 years of thriving together with you!
