150th Anniversary

Celebrating 150 years of thriving together.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of serving the financial needs of Waseca and surrounding communities with roots dating back to to June of 1874, when C. Hardin & Sons opened its doors for business in the Waseca community, operating as The Bank of Waseca. In 1892, The Bank of Waseca was succeeded by Citizens' State Bank of Waseca, which was owned and operated by A. D. Cadwell and F. N. Hunt. Citizens' State Bank of Waseca is absorbed by The First National Bank of Waseca when it was chartered in 1903. After World War I, American National Bank, led by local businessman Otto Bremer, supports The First National Bank of Waseca by taking controlling interest. In 1966, Frank T. Sankovitz and Richard P. Sankovitz purchased controlling interest of The First National Bank of Waseca. The Sankovitz family own and operate the bank today.

When reflecting on the 150-year longevity of serving as a community bank, it is truly a celebration—of working together to support customers, the local communities and charitable organizations. Keen Bank takes great pride in helping our customers and communities grow, building our futures together.

As we look to the future, we are excited to promote continued growth for our customers and communities to prosper. Throughout the years there have been a tremendous number of changes to products, services and technology within the banking industry. What has not changed is the unwavering commitment our team has for our customers and communities—to meet growing needs while maintaining the personal aspects of service that is synonymous with community banking. We always have and will continue to make decisions locally and invest in the communities we serve.
