Make the switch to Keen Bank!


We are committed to your financial wellbeing and there's no place Keen Bank would rather be than at your side. We want to make it as easy and hassle-free as possible when moving your checking account from your former bank to Keen Bank. We have created step-by-step instructions, worksheets and simple forms to ensure your transition is seamless.

To get started, you will need this information:
  • Keen Bank’s Routing Number: 091901561
  • Your New Account Number: Unique to your account and needed to set up direct deposit.

Step 1: Open your new checking account.

Stop in at any Keen Bank location to open your  new checking account. Or, if you prefer, you can open any of our personal checking account online.


Step 2: Enroll in Keen Bank’s Digital Banking.

  • Download the Keen Bank mobile app.
  • Enroll as a new user from the mobile app or using your desktop or laptop computer by providing your new account number, social security number, email address
  • and phone number.
  • Enroll in Bill Pay within digital banking by clicking on Payment.
  • Enroll in eStatements within digital banking by clicking on Documents.

Please note: Digital Banking is optional and not a requirement.


Step 3: Make the move.

  • Move direct deposits to your new Keen Bank checking account using our simple Direct Deposit Transfer Request form.
  • Set up your automatic payments with your new Keen Bank checking account.
  • Transfer automatic payments by setting them up within Bill Pay or use our simple Automatic Payment Transfer Request form.


Step 4: Track your activity.

  • Stop using your former bank account when you start your new account transition.
  • Maintain sufficient funds in both your former bank account and your Keen Bank account to cover outstanding checks, automatic withdrawals and other payments.
  • Check off each outstanding item on your Payment & Outstanding Items worksheet as it clears from your former account.


Step 5: Close your former checking account.

  • Confirm automatic deposits have transferred.
  • Confirm automatic payments have transferred.
  • Confirm outstanding checks have cleared.
  • Confirm debit card transactions have cleared.
  • Contact your former bank to request the account closure or use our simple Account Closing Request form and send it to your former financial institution.
  • Transfer any remaining deposits to your new Keen Bank checking account.
  • Destroy any unused checks, debit/ATM cards and deposit slips from your former account.

Use this worksheet to keep track of the information needed to switch automatic and bill pay payments to your Keen Bank account. At your convenience, you may also use this worksheet to track outstanding checks on your former bank account or outstanding debit card transactions to ensure they clear before closing the account.
 
This may include mortgage payments or rent, utilities, cell phone, credit cards, car/auto payments, student loans, streaming services, gym memberships and other transactions, such as transfers to externally linked deposit accounts, retirement accounts and investment accounts.

It is also recommended that you note all websites that are linked to your former bank account. For example, if you use a mobile wallet app online, you’ll need to update your bank account or debit card information once your new Keen Bank account is open.

This may include payroll checks, government deposits (i.e. social security), brokerage deposits (i.e. dividends, interest), transfers from other bank accounts, child support or other court-issued deposits.
